Randolph County Relay for Life
This overnight event takes place once a year at the Asheboro Middle School. Teams are formed from local businesses, industries, schools, etc. to raise money for the AmericanCancer Society. Each team must raise at least $1000 to be in the event. During the overnight event, each team must have one team member walking on the track throughout out the night, while other teams member set up camp at a pre-assigned location on the track for the overnight stay. Ramtex has taken part in this event every year it has been held. The Randolph County Relay for Life is one of the more profitable relays held around the country, raising over $600,000 this past year. Each year, Ramtex employees contribute more than $1000 to the relay. Fund raising events include bake sales, cook book sales (Ramtex employees provide the recipes), pancake breakfast, golf tournaments, car washes, etc.

Annual United Way Campaign
Once a year we hold a United Way Campaign in which each Ramtex employee has the opportunity to make a donation to the Randolph County United Way organization. On average 35% of our employees make contributions to the United Way.

Adopt a Child for Christmas
Each Christmas, Ramtex works with the local Head Start program, in which employees adopt one class of young students, providing Christmas presents for the children of this class. The ages range from 4-7 years old. Each class has roughly 25 students.

High School Apprenticeship Program
Ramtex has established a high school apprenticeship program currently offered to two of our local high schools; Eastern Randolph and Chatham Central. This program allows second semester juniors to apply for the program and, if selected, come to work at Ramtex during the summer months and throughout their senior year of high school. They learn service related jobs to manufacturing which qualifies them as an operator prior to graduation.

Jack Upton Business Scholarship
Each year, Ramtex awards the Jack Upton Business Scholarship" to an Eastern Randolph High School senior who will attend Randolph Community College for business. The scholarship is based on the grades and needs of the student.
